Sometimes the best medicine for stress is to walk away and refresh. At least we find that works for visitors to Wisconsin Dells. So as you are busy planning your vacation, please do take advantage of the free offerings to round out your to-do list. New for 2016, the historic H.H. Bennett Studio on Broadway now has free admission. The work of Henry Hamilton Bennett, the “father of landscape photography,” puts the history and geology of the area into stunning perspective. Exit the studio, turn right, and head to the entrance of the Scenic River Walk. This ¼-mile walking path along the Upper Dells of the Wisconsin River is currently being expanded and will be double in length by early summer. You’ll find perfect spots for a family picture or a selfie with a tour boat and sandstone cliffs in the background. The downtown entertainment schedule has just gone live and, you guessed it, all the performances are free.
Automotion, a classic car show staged in the parking lot at Noah’s Ark Waterpark, is coming up on May 21-22, 2016. Admission to the festival grounds is free. The event features 1,200 classic cars, swap meet, car parade, kids activities, live music and food. On Saturday night check out “Hollywood on Broadway” when iconic film cars, such as The DeLorean from Back to the Future, grace the streets of downtown.
