Ducks, Not Robins, Are First Sign of Spring

Ducks, Not Robins, Are First Sign of Spring

It’s about this time every year, weather cooperating, that the fleet of WWII amphibious vehicles known as DUCKS takes to the Wisconsin River for scenic tours of the water, land and cliffs. Dells Army Duck Tours offer a one-hour ride through the Lower Dells of the river where you’ll see rock formations like the Sugar Bowl, Grotto Island, Upside Down Heart and Wedding Bell. You’ll also skim Lake Delton and hear about the Lost City of Newport. Original Wisconsin Ducks® takes you through winding wilderness trails and alongside sandstone bluffs. A perennial favorite is Roller Coaster Hill, as is the plunge into the Wisconsin River. Just as the first sightings of robins in the spring are a source of joy in Wisconsin, so, too, are these hulking DUCKS.
