Spring Break puts a spring in every student’s step, especially when they’re stepping into a vacation in Wisconsin Dells. The waterpark resorts provide tons of entertainment, with enough waterslides, water roller coasters, dump buckets, and lazy rivers to keep everyone occupied for hours. Here’s something out of the ordinary: Kalahari Resort Waterparks accepts reservations for mermaid and merman swimming experiences, and that’s in addition to surf lessons on their indoor FlowRider. Cool! Additional lodging options abound, with plenty of cozy mom-and-pop hotels, condos, cabins and vacation home rentals.
For a big gulp of fresh air, how about some zip-lining. BigFoot Zipline Tours, Chimney Rock Park Zip Line Tours – Vertical Illusions, and Wilderness Canyon Zip Line Canopy Tour are all open year-round. Equally exhilarating in their own indoor way are the activities at Kalahari Indoor Theme Park, Wild Fun Zone, and Knuckleheads Trampoline Park • Rides • Bowling. Do some wizard questing at MagiQuest/ShadowQuest at Great Wolf Lodge or the downtown Wizard Quest attraction. Then sit back and be dazzled by the magic of the Rick Wilcox Magic Theater.
For kid-friendly dining recommendations, the list is long. If you’re traveling with other families, consider Buffalo Phil’s Pizza & Grille, Monk’s Bar & Grill at the Wilderness, B-LUX Grill & Bar, Moosejaw Pizza & Dells Brewing Co., Paul Bunyan’s Northwoods Cook Shanty, and Kickers Restaurant, as they all do a terrific job with larger groups.
Round out spring break with a little shopping downtown or at Outlets at The Dells℠, with brand names to satisfy even the pickiest tweens and teens.
