The expression “best of all possible worlds” dates back to the 1750s and a piece of French literature, but it could just have easily been coined in the early 21st century to describe the camping experience in Wisconsin Dells. While some destinations give you one choice, say remote tent camping where that’s all you do - hike in, set up, camp and come home – Dells camping is more akin to a camp motel or camp resort. How so, you ask? Because the town entertains campers, the campground amenities charm campers, and the natural resources enthrall campers.
There’s the Parkway, North and South, plus Stand Rock Road and River Road and Canyon Road. But the place where it all started is Broadway. Not the famed NYC theater district, mind you, but rather the main thoroughfare that defines downtown Wisconsin Dells. Vacationers typically want two things from a getaway. They want “new” as in new and fun attractions, shops and restaurants as a way to keep it fresh and feed their explorer side. And they want “old” as in charming, classic, please-don’t-ever-change to feed their nostalgic side. It’s a real feat when a destination can deliver both. Wisconsin Dells is one such destination and they do it best in their downtown river district.
B2S stands for back-to-school. But it could also mean back-to-shopping, which sounds a whole lot more fun for everyone. Click through for fab shopping finds in the Dells.
