Joan and Bill Fitzgerald opened their motel in 1949. It was a simpler time when families took a week off for summer vacation and there was time to visit. Today, families return to Fitzgerald's for that nostalgic vacation experience, telling the current owners the place "feels like home." If you're on the second floor, you'll be looking out at a wonderful vista of downtown Wisconsin Dells. Begin the day with a great cup of complimentary coffee and then stroll out to the heated pool, a favorite gathering spot for guests. "We arrived for Flakeout Festival on one of the coldiest days of the year so far. It was wonderful arriving to a nice friendly smiling face welcoming us to the motel. We had an easy check in & the room was perfect, just what we needed. It had so many touches of being in your own home. The beds we confortable, the room was very clean & the decor was nice light colors. Very relaxing after a long drive to the Dells from Milwaukee. Even more relaxing after being out all day at the festival. We wanted a motel within walking distance of the festival & this was definately the place. I hope to be back in the fall for the Harvest Festival. Great owners who care a great deal about tour comfort."
