05/19/2008 "The first time I went to Wisconsin Dells was in 1994 with a group of friends and children. We stayed at a resort on the main strip. On Sunday morning, my friends asked a local where we would find a delicious breakfast. They mentioned Thunder Valley Inn. When we arrived I was taken away at the charm and could not believe this quant farm was located a few blocks away from the main area of the Dells. We thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast brunch with homemade pancakes, breads, yogurt, sweets. It was wonderful! My husband and I promised ourselves we would be back once we had children and stay at the Thunder Valley Inn. One year later we were back with our daughter who was six months old and have gone back almost every year with my daughter and son. We have yearly pictures of Danielle and Jimmy with Mrs. Farmer who would help the children feed the animals on the farm, milk the goats and tend to the kittens they loved so much. I believe we stayed in each room with all of our visits. The rooms have a Swedish theme. I have purchased books and souvenirs from their gist shop. We purchased the Swedish pastry recipe and my daughter, now thirteen, bakes it for us in the morning. It is my son Jimmy's favorite. Mrs. Nelson, her daughters, and Mrs. Farmer treated us like family and we will never forget the many memories (now 13 years of memories). They have the best food I have ever had and it is all homemade!" - cathy chicago, IL |
