2016-10-24While we were in the Dells on Oct 19,2016, we took this trail ride. I think the guide's name was Brie, she was very informative and caring about the horses and us. We enjoyed very much!!

2015-06-22My family traveled to the Dells in June 2015. We found Canyon Creek Horseback Riding and was pleased the moment we drove up. It is a professionally run outfitter with fantastic staff and horses. The trail ride was fantastic and both of my girls who are 9 and 10 got to ride their own horses. The horses were gentle and the guides were very nice and accommodating. You won't be disappointed

2013-10-25We just got back from Canyon Creek Riding Stables. I have been to another stable in the area and must say that this was an excellent experience. Our guide answered all questions and gave out great information! We will definitely be returning and I recommend using them!

2013-04-12My experience was fun omg the beauiful woods with the breezes and the screaming you here in the distance from the water parks near the riding stabeles. I love the interactive machanickle beavers talking on the waterfall by the enterance they are funny with their jokes lol. The prices are a bit steep bit, it was worth it for the horses they need food and water it's so hot there in the summer! The tour was great and well the saddle is very hard and hurt my butt really bad lol. My daughter loved it tho Thanks Canyon Creek see you this summer!

2011-09-07My family of three (Husband, Daughter 6, and me) recently visited Wisconsin Dells and have to say I was plesently surprised. We started the get away with Horse Back Riding at Canyon Creek which was very relaxing and suitable for my 6 year old. We stayed at Wilderness Resort which contained everything we could have wanted. Just to see what else the Dells had we checked out the Duck tour which is a must and more fun than I thought it would be. Go-Cart racing not too far from the Duck Tours kept us laughing. Great place to visit and highly recommend staying at the Wilderness.

Try it in a sentence like "I can't wait to spend our first morning in Wisconsin Dells schussing down the ski slopes and then I'll trade my snowsuit for a swim suit and splash the afternoon away at an indoor water park."Read More

Happy Holidays from Wisconsin Dells2012-08-16If you’re reading this, there’s a good chance you’ve been to Wisconsin Dells at least once and an equally good chance that trip was for a summer vacation. Happy Holidays from Wisconsin Dells
    2012-08-16

WinterWhen you’re known far and wide for your wildly fun waterparks and classic attractions, you can’t back off just because it turns cold. After all, it’s Wisconsin where winter makes up a big chunk of the calendar, so why not kick it off big with the holidays and then continue strong all the way through to spring thaw?

For winter lodging, you can’t go wrong with a big cabin, like those on the grounds of the Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort, or a vacation home rental from Sand County Service Company. They just feel, well, Christmas-y. New Year’s Eve bashes are hosted from one end of town to the other. Choose a cozy party or an all-out countdown celebration, whatever suits your fancy.

But that only takes us up to January 1 and there’s a lot of winter left to fill.

Consider a cure-cabin-fever getaway to a weather-proof indoor waterpark resort - the community has plenty to choose from. There's something so satisfying about swimming indoors in 80+ degree temperatures when there's snow falling outside. A mid-winter getaway would be a good time to test out the new waterslides at the Kalahari Resort. Or perhaps you could set a goal of riding every waterslide within Mt. Olympus' indoor waterpark.

If you prefer not to get wet, there are other indoor adventures to consider, like rock climbing, ropes courses, laser tag, mini-golfing and go-karting, to name a few.

A little fresh air is a good thing too, as in tubing, boarding or skiing at Cascade Mountain Ski, Snowboard & Snow Tube or Christmas Mountain Ski, or how about a little ice skating on Lake Delton. The area has lots of snowmobile trails as well. Outdoor outfitter Chimney Rock Park Zip Line Tour - Vertical Illusions will take you on a frozen waterfall climb to experience the beauty of the area like you've never see before. Snow shoeing and cross country skiing are other options for taking in the natural wonders of Wisconsin Dells in the winter.

Red Ridge Ranch Riding Stable is open year-round, so maybe you'd like to opt for a trail ride through their 250 acres of rolling farmland and wooded hills. Ask about their sleigh rides too. Same suggestions goes for Canyon Creek Riding Stables, where riders enjoy a guided tour with an old west theme.

There are plenty of things to do in Wisconsin during the winter. Those winter months will whiz by.

10 Ways to Put a Spring in Your Step This Winter
    2015-01-04

New rule: No complaining about winter. Sure, it’s long, involves shorter days with gray skies, and is every meteorologist’s dream come true to predict temperature swings and snowfall totals. But that’s no reason to acquiesce. Here in Wisconsin Dells, we’re in the business of putting a spring in your step, even in the middle of the frozen months. Try these 10 activities and you’ll head off cabin fever at the pass.

    1. Barrel down a waterslide. The indoor waterparks here work like a dose of sunshine to brighten moods. The big six are Chula Vista Resort, Kalahari Resorts & Conventions, Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort, Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park, Polynesian Water Park Resort and Great Wolf Lodge. Try a trapdoor slide, a water roller coaster, a funnel ride or a racing slide and you’ll have to wipe the smile off your face.

    2. Jump around on a trampoline. Burn off a little steam by jumping around in Knuckleheads Trampoline Park • Rides • Bowling. There’s a massive jumping pillow, trampolines for shooting dunk shots and springy surfaces for playing family games.

    3. Perfect a snowboard trick or give snowtubing a whirl. Cascade Mountain Ski, Snowboard & Snow Tube and Christmas Mountain Village™ Ski, Snowboard and Tube both offer snowboard terrain parks and snowtube hills, to say nothing of their downhill runs. Cascade Mountain touts its high-speed Mountain Top Express to get to the top of the mountain quickly and easily. At Christmas Mountain there are also cross-country skiing trails.

    4. Zipline over snow-covered treetops. If you think ziplining is exhilarating in the summer, wait until you try it in the winter. Seeing Wisconsin’s winter wonderland from a vantage point high above the treetops is awe-inspiring. Year-round ziplining can be had at BigFoot Zipline Tours, Wilderness Canyon Zip Line Canopy Tour and Chimney Rock Park Zip Line Tours - Vertical Illusions.

    5. Take a spin on a go-cart or play some golf. Go-carting and mini-golf are so popular in Wisconsin Dells that they’ve become four-season sports thanks to weatherproofed options. The Kalahari Indoor Theme Park, for example, offers both. Their elevated go-cart track is a big visual inside the park. Along with mini-golf they also have a high-definition golf simulator. At the Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort they recently added a two-story go-cart trail and they have not one but three indoor mini-golf courses.

    6. Commit to a fierce game of laser tag. Wild Fun Zone has a huge laser tag arena that looks like a giant space cave. The laser tag facility at the Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort takes up two floors and is themed to the OK Corral.

    7. Test your skills on a rock wall or ropes course. The Kalahari Indoor Theme Park has both a ropes course and climbing walls, so take up the challenge and try both. The ropes course at the Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort is perched above the arcade and includes 42 different challenges with varying degrees of difficulty. Or try Knuckleheads Trampoline Park • Rides • Bowling version high above the go-kart track.

    8. Go questing for a wizard. The labyrinth at Wizard Quest looks like a full-size movie set. Collect “glimmers” by correctly answering riddles to free the wizards. You’ll have a magic wand in hand as you navigate the MagiQuest and ShadowQuest adventures at Great Wolf Lodge.

    9. Enjoy some horseback riding. Canyon Creek Riding Stables and Red Ridge Ranch Riding Stable are open year-round. At Woodside Ranch, enjoy a horse-drawn sleigh ride.

    10. Bowl a few frames. Knuckleheads Trampoline Park • Rides • Bowling has 10 lanes, Chalet Lanes & Lounge has 12, and the Kalahari Indoor Theme Park has 24. Strikes, spares, splits, gutter balls, it’s all good.
