Wisconsin Dells High School offers a great venue for athletic activities including a football field, baseball diamond, and tennis courts. See more here.
The Wisconsin Dells High School offers plenty of options for the athlete in all of us. There's a huge gymnasium, football field, baseball diamond with practice field, plus tennis courts. Ideal for basketball, volleyball, wrestling, tennis and baseball events. There's even a ropes course available for team building exercises. All reservation requests, whether from a coach, parent or business meeting planner, should go to the administration office.
Note - All submissions will be reviewed by the Wisconsin Dells Visitor and Convention Bureau staff, may be shared with Chula Vista Resort Waterparks, and may be used on this web site or in other publications to help share your Dells experience with others.
Wisconsin Dells isn't exactly the most conventional of destinations for business travelers. What with water parks everywhere, mega bowling alleys, sprawling mini golf courses, indoor amusement parks and a downtown that's an experience unto itself. If you're planning to attend a meeting here, expect things might run a little differently. In a good way. A vivid case in point has got to be last summer's statewide Harley Owners Group® -- H.O.G. for short -- rally which rumbled into the Dells in June. Not a suit in sight. Just lots of leather vests, leather coats, leather boots, well, you get the picture. The local Visitor Bureau staff lived and breathed motorcycles for months leading up to this attitude-charged event. To even be considered as a host of this annual gathering, a community has to garner the support of the local dealers and the local H.O.G. chapter. Then, and only then, does the statewide committee even want to hear your pitch. Wisconsin Dells was awarded the business, thanks in part to the allure of scenic routes at the three nearby state parks, 90+ restaurants to feed hungry bikers, plenty of lodging, and great attractions. The main activities were held at Ho-Chunk Gaming, Wisconsin Dells, where antique bikes were on display and a vendor avenue with apparel, jewelry, decals and bike accessories was set up. There was even a motorcycle parade. And, of course, some great blues and rock music. One lucky person even won a 105th anniversary Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
Now granted, that was less of a meeting and more of a convention, but even more traditional conference groups are allowed to veer off the straight and narrow when in the Dells. The Dells Raceway Park has been doing a brisk business in team-building events. Seems people like to get away from PowerPoint presentations to play pit crew in a competition of who can change the tire of a race car the fastest. Everyone who participates gets a lap around the track with one of the professional drivers of these stock cars and, trust us, it's at an exhilarating speed. Think 90-100 mph in the straight-aways. Dells Raceway Park does a great business with its concessions on race nights and the same delectable entrées -- quite unexpected, really, for a race track -- can be served specially for groups in the VIP lounge. As an aside, for those looking for something more involved, check out their driving school experience. So ditch the stodgy suit and the tie, the high heels and pearls. This is the Dells, and that's how they ride. If rumble isn't your style, maybe rock climbing and ropes courses are, and those are available at the Wisconsin Dells High School, Perlstein Resort & Conference Center and the Kalahari Indoor Theme Park.
