07/23/2014 If you go to Ripley's Believe It or Not before this, it really helps as both places encourage exploration, teamwork and thinking. I love the place, I knew I would before I went there! A must see for all parents/grandparents with their children. If you just want to have a great time you can go at any age. The staff will smile back at you with a kind smile, and won't judge you for your age.

07/23/2013Second time there, second fail. Love it but we stink at it! Will try again if we return to the Dells. Great place!

08/10/2009This past July we went to Wisconsin Dells as a family and we have not been there as a family in 5 years (it use to be a huge things for us) but when my daughter was born with many medical issues life and vactions were put on hold. This year we came back as a family of 5 and we had a blast! Wizard Quest was our 1st thing we did, we heard so many awesome things about it we had to try it out. As soon as the doors opened into the world of Wizards we were in AWW, it was amazing. Finding the clues and freeing the wizards was so much fun. My oldest can not wait to come back next year and try a whole new adventure, he is even saving all his dollars to bring his grandparents with next time. We had a lot of fun and everyone working together as a team was a great site to see. Thank you for a morning of fun!!

02/23/2009Definately one of the best attractions at the Dells! My Exgirlfriends son and I went through this about 7 years ago, It was amazing! We wanted so bad to complete the quest that we went back the next day to finish. It really helps to have a child to get to those hard to reach places...I got stuck going through the fire pit to save the Fire Wizard.

02/21/2009I went awhile ago with a couple of my friends. It was really cool, especially when we went into the place with a bunch of mirrors. We actully got lost because there were so many mirrors, and we ran into each other because we didn't know what was a mirror and what was the real thing. We also loved climbibg inside the tree. It was hard though, because there were three of us trying to stay together in side of it, and it was small! We just found all four wizards in the time limit. We couldn't have been much slower at all, or we wouldn't have made it. I thought it would be some spooky, dark place where things jump out at you, but it asn't anything like that. I would recommend Wizard Quest to anyone.

    glockenspiel-downtown-dells-29German Glockenspiel - Downtown Dells

Take the children to see the giant Glockenspiel with a musical re-enactment of the legendary Pied Piper of Hamelin every half-hour, on the hour. The legend goes that the Pied Piper rid the town of Hamelin of its rats and mice by charming them away with his flute playing. When the citizens of Hamelin refused to pay the piper the price they had agreed upon, he charmed away their children in revenge.

The German Glockenspiel with its fairy tale re-enactment is FREE making it one of the best Wisconsin Dells deals. It's located in the 400 block of Broadway, Downtown Wisconsin Dells.

It's one of the most scenic Wisconsin Dells activities available and it never disappoints.

    "Cheats" For Playing Wizard Quest
    04/01/2010

wizard-quest-downtown-wi-dells-35If you have a tween or teen in your house, then you likely have video games, and you've likely heard the term "cheats." These are clues that help players unlock the codes in games. So it should come as no surprise that an attraction in Wisconsin Dells that blends the appeal of an interactive video game with a Harry Potter-style plot in a Lord of the Rings-style setting would be the subject of cheats. The place is called Wizard Quest, and the game takes place in a 13,000 square foot labyrinth. The owners there call it a quadra-sphere and it’s full of secret passageways, hidden entrances and traps.

Your quest is to locate and release the imprisoned wizards. To do this you must first collect enough "glimmers" and you do that by correctly answering the riddles and questions posed by the Dragons. The answers are found in the four "realms" - Air, Water, Earth and Fire. Yes, there is an opposition here that doesn't want you to free the Wizards. His name is Ha and his minions do what they can to hinder your quest. Oh, and one more thing, you have 90 minutes to complete your mission.

We called the general manager and coaxed a few clues from her, knowing she couldn't give away the game. Here are the suggestions:

    • Remember, the game takes brains not brawn.
    • Think outside the box, because doors don't open the way they should and things are not what they seem.
    • The toughest challenge is finding the luma-crystal, but the rewards are great. Look for the sleeping troll to solve this one.
    • If you're stuck, ask your kid for help.

It was fun to learn that Wizard Quest is becoming a popular spot for groups. Think family reunions and school clubs. Even corporations have booked it for retreats and team building exercises. And the competition is known to get pretty spirited.

Every year the inventors of Wizard Quest add new questions and new characters, so past "cheats" may not help. The Water realm is also being expanded with some new magical mysteries.

So, if you've ever wondered what it would feel like to be the main character in a video game, this attraction could be your ticket.

How Will You Wile Away The Winter In Wisconsin Dells?11/03/2010Whatever you do this winter, don’t stay cooped up at home. Embrace the frosty season. Celebrate the snowfalls. Ice those feelings of cabin fever. It’s Wisconsin Dells to the rescue.Read More
How Will You Wile Away The Winter In Wisconsin Dells?
    11/03/2010

Wisconsin Dells Winter ActivitiesWhatever you do this winter, don’t stay cooped up at home.  Embrace the frosty season.  Celebrate the snowfalls.  Ice those feelings of cabin fever.  It’s the Dells to the rescue.

Admitting bias, we think there’s nothing quite as lovely as indoor Wisconsin Dells water parks in the dead of winter.  Picture this:  You and your family basking in 80 degree temperatures, perhaps at your own private poolside cabana, deciding which ride to do next - a water roller coaster, racing slides or perhaps an indoor surf machine.

Snowboarding Cascade MountainNo less remarkable is the job Mother Nature does in dumping enough fluffy flakes in the Dells to make downhill skiing and snow tubing an extremely fun option.  Just as Wisconsin Dells pioneered the indoor waterpark, area business owners have done a stellar job translating the water slide for winter outdoor enthusiasts.  At Cascade Mountain Ski, Snowboard & Snow Tube, they have five 800-foot long snow tube chutes along with 36 downhill trails (hint: take the high speed Mountain Top Express lift to pack in more fun per minute).

Wisconsin Dells HockeyIf you like to glide through the season, take advantage of open skate times Wednesdays and Sundays at the Poppy Waterman Ice Arena.  Outside rinks include the one at Bowman Park in Downtown Wisconsin Dells and on beautiful Lake Delton.

WI Dells Indoor Winter ActivitiesMany Wisconsin Dells attractions are open year-round, so peel off some time to bowl at Knuckleheads Bowling & Indoor Amusement Park or the Kalahari Indoor Theme Park at the Kalahari Waterpark Resort Convention Center, play a wizard quest-style full-size labyrinth game at MagiQuest or Wizard Quest in downtown Dells, explore at the Tommy Bartlett Exploratory – Interactive Science Center or go horseback riding through the snow at Red Ridge Ranch Riding Stable.

What’s that you say, you love winter more with every passing minute?  Good, very good.
