On BroadwayThe main street, Broadway in downtown Wisconsin Dells…that’s where it all started. The boat tours, the souvenir shops, the fudge and candy stores, they’re all still there. But there are some new incentives to head downtown. The Dells RiverWalk, for one, a quarter-mile walkway behind the businesses with views to the Wisconsin River not seen for 75 years. There are even benches, picnic tables and special game tables spaced out along the way. And then there’s the free entertainment. During June, July and August, the Dells River District sponsors some charming entertainment for evening shoppers and diners. On any given night, you might hear a swing band, brass quintet, barbershop quartet or bagpipers, or see a magic performer or juggler. Native American dancers had the rapt attention of visitors last year and return this year. Concerts in the park are a regular occurrence too. It all has a nostalgic feel to it that’s quite inviting indeed. |
