Think you've got a pie that's a real winner? We want to taste it! Join us for the 1st Annual Autumn Harvest Fest Pie Contest. Pies will be accepted for entry to the contest from 10:00 a.m. - Noon on Sunday, October 19, 2008. Winners will be chosen immediately following. Please see below for a complete list of rules.
Autumn Harvest Fest Pie Contest Rules
- Pie filling must have a Wisconsin product (fruit, nut and/or vegetable) as the main ingredient.
- Pie fillings must be fresh, home preserved or home frozen. Commercially canned pie fillings will not be accepted.
- Crust may be either home or commercially prepared.
- Custard pies or pies containing an ingredient requiring refrigeration (such as cream cheese, whipped topping, etc.) will not be accepted due to lack of refrigeration at the contest site.
- Pies should be in a disposable container and protected by a food storage bag (not plastic wrap).
- There will be two divisions; all pies in a division will be competing for that division's award. Divisions are:
Adult (18 or over) - Single or Double Crust
Youth (Ages 8-17) - Single or Double Crust
- Contestants must submit two copies of their recipe with name, correct mailing address, zip code and telephone number on the back. No handwritten recipes please.
- An individual may enter up to three pies.
- Prizes and ribbons will be awarded to all winners.
- An independent panel of local restaurant professionals will judge the 1st Annual Autumn Harvest Fest Pie Contest. All decisions will be final.
