More about the Ronald McDonald House

The Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Madison opened its doors in 1993. Since then, they've welcomed more than 5,000 families from 47 states and 14 countries. It is a home-away-from-home for families of children undergoing treatment for serious illness or injury at Madison-area hospitals. While some families will contribute $10 a night for each night they stay, for some even that is too much. Yet no family is ever turned away for inability to pay. The $10 room donation covers only a small portion of the operating costs. Outside the walls of the House, RMHC-Madison contributes $200,000 a year to support the operation of the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. This mobile dental/health van had provided nearly $1.2 million of free dental and health services to nearly 4,000 children in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois during its three years of operation.
