Holiday Shopping for Everyone on Your List
If you’re looking to be crowned “Greatest Gift-Giver”, then you’ve come to the right place. By place, we mean Wisconsin Dells. Our downtown district has long been a happy shopping hub at holiday time and for good reason - the wonderful variety of shops, all walkable, makes this seasonal to-do a joy instead of a chore. Here are some of our picks to put a smile on the faces of everyone on your list:
For Toddlers: The little ones will squeal with glee when they tear open their present from Made with Love. This cute little shop features the handiwork of more than 100 makers from all over the country. There are doll clothes, color by number sets, pop-up books, and lots more. Pick up a little something for yourself while you’re there too, perhaps some handmade soap or a pretty pair of earrings.
For Tweens and Teens: Ye Ole Nerd Shop bills itself as the ultimate fanboy and fangirl shop. Your tweens will know what that means (hint: action figures, anime items, and magic cards in large supply). There’s also the Gnome Depot gift shop inside the Wizard Quest attraction with sculptures of magical creatures. Musically inclined teens might like to see a guitar, keyboard or set of drums from Mojo Music under the tree on Christmas morning. Native Sun has apparel to make a fun fashion statement at the waterparks.
For Mom and Dad: There is a great array of home décor items at Winnebago Gift Shop, from sentimental to humorous plus the softest socks and chic resort apparel for mom. For dads into the outdoors, there are aprons for grilling and drink koozies for chilling. Don’t forget the pet parents in your life too.
For Grandparents: Thompson’s Full Bloom has lovely floral arrangements and plants, along with other gift items. Now if your grandparents’ tastes run a bit more eclectic, shop for funky décor items at DooHickey’s Gifts.
For Everyone: This “unicorn” of shopping finds actually exists in the Dells. We’re talking food and we’re talking footwear. Stock up on fudge from Original Wisconsin Dells Fudge, Wisconsin Dairyland Fudge and Swiss Maid Fudge; popcorn tins from Oodlesmack Popcorn and Kernel Popcorn’s Factory; and old-fashioned candy from Goody Goody Gum Drop and Aunt Jenny’s Candy Kitchen. For home chefs who like a little heat, the Pepper Palace is loaded with hand-crafted small-batch sauces and seasonings.
