Spa-savvy Travelers Love Sundara
2018 was a banner year for Sundara Inn & Spa; a destination spa tucked back in a fragrant pine forest on the scenic outskirts of Wisconsin Dells. They celebrated their 15th anniversary, won readers’ choice awards from both Condé Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure magazines, and they completed a 40,000 square foot addition. If you’re looking for a place to relax and rejuvenate in the New Year, this is your sanctuary from stress.
First, a little about Sundara. This adult-only, electronics-free, eco-chic property is intimate by design, with just 34 suites and a handful of private villas. You might say this award-winning property is where digital detox policies, Ayurvedic treatments, forest bathing, and farm-to-table were a thing long before they were “a thing.”
When it came time to expand, the emphasis was put on wellness. There are eight new woodland suites in the woods, perfect for small group gatherings. In the spa, a salt therapy room has been added along with more treatment rooms. There is a dedicated restaurant, spacious fitness area, and relaxation rooms for guided meditation and yoga. The centerpiece of the expansion has to be the Cambrian Oasis with indoor/outdoor pools and an interior design evocative of the sandstone bluffs in the area, with actual casts taken of the cliffs for authenticity.
So if you’re looking for an escape from the real world, this oasis of calm is calling to you.
