Neighbors out for their morning run or bike ride - it’s an increasingly common sight these days. The same could be said for resort destinations like Wisconsin Dells, where the trend of staying fit while away from home presents an added opportunity to explore the area.
For starters, there are three state parks in close proximity to the Dells. The fall hiking up and down the quartzite cliffs at Devil’s Lake State Park is nothing short of spectacular. At Mirror Lake State Park, there are nine miles of trails available for off-road bike enthusiasts that are open through the end of October. At Rocky Arbor State Park take an easy hike and then picnic in the park.
You can rent kayaks for adventures on the Wisconsin River through Chimney Rock Park Zip Line Tours - Vertical Illusions. For a nice 5-mile run, tackle the full circumference of Lake Delton using the new paved running path.
Put on your Fitbit and walk from one end of Broadway to the other, stopping at downtown shops and attractions along the way. To get in a few extra steps, take the Scenic River Walk path along the Wisconsin River. Of course you’ll be covering the miles when you experience all the rides and slides at the indoor waterparks here too.
