Gaming, Dining, Spa-ing and More
In the neighborhood of 40% of travelers to Wisconsin Dells visit without children. Surprised? Yeah, so are a lot of people. But it’s a trend that’s here to stay and we’re 100% certain of that thanks to all the grown-up getaway offerings in the community. If you’re ready to get in touch with your mature side, then read on.
For those 21 and older, you’re in luck because Ho-Chunk Gaming Wisconsin Dells is open to you. Try Blackjack, slots and bingo. Time your visit to a concert or comedy show. Dine at Copper Oak Steakhouse or book a suite and spend the night.
If you like to plan your friends’ getaways around live entertainment, there’s also Crystal Grand Music Theatre, where the January calendar includes shows featuring Scotty McCreery and Trace Adkins. In February, Sara Evans headlines, and in March it’s The Guess Who and Little River Band. And that’s just a sampling. Opt for the VIP Experience and really make a night of it. At Palace Theater in the Dells, the 2020 season kicks off with the comedy “Moon Over Buffalo,” and the musical “Dirty Rotten Scoundrels” opening in mid-March.
The dining is fine in the Dells. More specifically, there’s the Del-Bar, House of Embers, Double Cut Charcoal Grill / Liquor Bar, Field’s at the Wilderness, The VUE – Waterfront Dining & Bar, and Kaminski’s Chop House at Chula Vista Resort. Can’t choose? Have a Wisconsin Dells progressive dinner party and enjoy each course at a different restaurant. Start with a cocktail and appetizer at one place, enjoy a steak or seafood entrée at the second location, and save room for a decadent dessert at the final stop of your choosing. These are restaurants where you won’t want to rush through the meal, perfect for reconnecting with friends.
Also fine in the Dells are the wineries. Round up the group for tastings at Wollersheim Winery & Distillery, Baraboo Bluff, Balanced Rock, Broken Bottle and Fawn Creek. Not all in one day, mind you! For those whose tastes veer to microbrews, they can pull up a stool at Moosejaw Pizza & Dells Brewing Co. and Tumbled Rock Brewery & Kitchen.
And don’t forget to pack your swimsuit because visiting an indoor waterpark in the winter is just as enchanting as an adult. Take a dip in one of the swim-up bars located at Wilderness Resort or Kalahari Resort Waterparks or lounge the day away in your own personal poolside cabana.
Insider tip: All that fun can be beautifully balanced with a day at the spa. Try one of the new CBD massage treatments at Sundara Inn & Spa which incorporate organic hemp-derived CBD oil to sooth aches and reduce inflammation. At Spa Kalahari & Salon, the Himalayan Salt Stone Massage uses heated salt stone to ease muscles and joints.
