Happy Splashing for Tots

August 07, 2015

One of the most common questions asked by moms and dads, and reporters for that matter, of the Wisconsin Dells Visitor & Convention Bureau is this: Which waterparks are best for toddlers? We’ve got a list a mile a mat racing waterslide long.

  • Wilderness Resort – the recently added Bear Foot Island Sprayground includes a giant drenching bull frog and silly spraying water bug.

  • Kalahari Resorts & Conventions – the multi-level Leopard’s Lair in the resort’s indoor waterpark goes from zero depth to just 12 inches of water, with Tiko’s Watering Hole, another happy hangout.

  • Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park – the Tropical Bay pirate ship attraction indoors and the Hucks Lagoon attraction outdoors are sized right for little ones.

  • Noah’s Ark Waterpark – Tadpole Bay has 50 different swings, dancing springs and kiddie water slides.

  • Great Wolf Lodge – here you’ll find zero-depth entry pools and kiddie slides for “little ones still getting their sea legs.”

  • Chula Vista Resort – kids go for the Kiddie River with its geysers and sprockets in six inches of water.

  • Meadowbrook Resort – the indoor water playland has a shallow depth pool with bubbling geysers themed to Timber Camp and the resort itself is a throwback to a national park lodge.

  • Alakai Hotel & Suites – the rainmakers and slides and water basketball here were designed specifically for children under age eight.

  • Atlantis Waterpark Hotel & Suites – they bill their tunnel slides and toddler slides as perfect for 11 and under.

  • Grand Marquis Waterpark Hotel & Suites – it’s an 11-and-under playland here as well, with the triple chute blue dolphin slide set up in clear view so parents can keep an eye on their little ones.

  • Polynesian Water Park Resort – credited with starting the indoor waterpark phenomenon, its Aloha Pavilion and Water Factory interactive play areas are toddler-terrific.

  • Wintergreen Resort & Conference Center – despite the polar décor, the water’s nice and warm for little ones at both the indoor and outdoor pools.
