Waterparks for Little Squirts

June 02, 2018

One of the most common questions we get at the visitor center is this: What waterparks are sized right for toddlers? We have the answer!

If this is your toddler’s first introduction to the world of waterparks, here are resorts that do a terrific job helping the little ones get their sea legs:

Alakai Hotel & Suites The indoor waterpark has a Hawaiian village feel to it. Toddlers will love the geysers and squirts, while parents will appreciate the zero depth pool entries. The outdoor waterpark has slides and a rainmaker.

Atlantis Family Waterpark Hotel markets itself for kids 10 and under. There are three waterpark areas here – two indoor and one outdoor. Slides and spray-and-play features are sure to delight the little ones.

Grand Marquis Waterpark Hotel & Suites has an indoor waterpark, the Blue Dolphin Lagoon, with kid-sized slides and shallow water wading pool.

Meadowbrook Resort has cute names for its water activities; all themed to a logging camp, including Baby Bears Bubbling Brook and Hollow Tree Swimmin’ Hole.

Polynesian Water Park Resort is the site of the first indoor waterpark and the Water Factory attraction that started it all is still here. Outside, kiddos will love the lazy river and activity pools.

Wintergreen Resort & Conference Center may have a chilly sounding name, but toddlers will warm up right away to the indoor Blizzard Bay and the outdoor Polar Island.

Yogi Bear Camp-Resort & Water Playground has four waterslides specifically designed for children ages 3-12 along with a children’s zero depth entry activity pool.

Bonus: While the major waterpark resorts may be huge in size, they still have water activities geared to the smallest ones in the group. Great Wolf Lodge is a perfect example, with its zero-depth entry pool and interactive treehouse water fort. At Noah’s Ark Waterpark, make a beeline to Tadpole Bay. At Mt. Olympus Resort, camp out at the Lost City of Atlantis water fortress with dump bucket. Wilderness Resort, Chula Vista Resort and Kalahari Resorts and Conventions all have lazy rivers that are just right for toddlers.

Tip: Make sure toddler time at the waterpark is as enjoyable as it can be when you remember to pack swim diapers, sun hat, sunscreen, and swim socks. Also know that children under a certain height may be required to wear a life jacket.
