What’s New for 2017

March 01, 2017

The Smoke that Thunders

When it comes to this year’s “new news,” there’s no better place to start than the waterparks, so hold on, this is big. Kalahari Resort Waterparks is debuting a new hybrid bowl-and-funnel waterslide, The Smoke That Thunders, at its outdoor waterpark. This new ride even has a zero gravity moment. On dry land, their new virtual reality game, The Arena, moves with you, giving you a feeling of full immersion. The Arena is only the second of its kind in the country.

The Great Pool of Delphi at Mt. Olympus Water & Theme Park opened to rave reviews late last summer. This 27,000 square foot swimming pool features four islands, geyser, 50-foot waterfall and cabanas.

Kids 12 and under will be in for a real treat when the Wilderness Resort’s new four-story Timberland Play Park opens Memorial Day weekend. It’s loaded with more than three dozen activities – from swings and slides to climbs and crawls – that will hold great appeal for young visitors loaded with energy.

The 4D Dive-In Theater at Noah’s Ark Waterpark has a new feature film for 2017 – “The Lego Movie 4D: A New Adventure,” starring Risky Business, the devious brother of President Business. Be prepared for a sensory fest, with water spritzes and wind blasts timed to what’s happening on the screen.
