Did you know the first brewery in Wisconsin opened four years before our forefathers declared statehood? That tells you a whole lot about where beer ranks in the hearts of Wisconsinites! To celebrate the craft of brewing, we bring you Dells on Tap Weekend, Oct. 12-13.
Sipping begins Friday evening with a Craft Beer Walk, running from 5-9 p.m. Purchase tickets online, pick up your tasting glass Friday between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the Wisconsin Dells Visitor and Convention Bureau, and stroll to participating taverns. Oh, and your ticket ($20 in advance, $30 day of) gets you food and tap specials too.
Saturday morning is the 5K Race to the Taps, an officially timed event using the B-Tag system with awards to the top three male and female finishers. That’s followed by a Corn Hole Tournament, with a free shirt and beer going to everyone registered. Those freebies alone offset the entry fee. Additionally, the top three teams will receive Wisconsin Dells gift cards.
Saturday afternoon brings the main attraction – Dells on Tap, our super-popular artisan beer event, this year featuring a cool 60 breweries from all around the midwest, including a few from right here in Wisconsin Dells, namely Wisconsin Dells Brewing Co. and Port Huron Brewing Company. Advance tickets are $40, day of $55, and you can purchase online. Now, if you really take your beer seriously, splurge and go for the VIP admission which gets a lucky 500 people early entry to hobnob with the brewmasters, a commemorative glass, and stylish + tasty pretzel necklace.
Moving on to wine enthusiasts, this one is for you.
