Luck will be on your side when you commit to some fun shenanigans in downtown Wisconsin Dells during the Thirsty Shamrock 5K and Pub Crawl on Saturday, March 12. The 5K kicks off at 10 a.m., starting and finishing at 105 Broadway, recognizable as the entrance to the Scenic River Walk. Register online now and start training. It’s $25 through March 11, then $40 on race day. Added bonus: Show your running bib at area restaurants, bars, and shops to save a little green on your purchases.
After you catch your breath and pose for photos with your running mates, then gear up for part two of the Thirsty Shamrock event with a downtown pub crawl (21+ for this too) from 1-5 p.m. Sample from a huge selection of artisan brews at participating bars. There are a limited number of tickets available for purchase online or on the day of the event. Advance tickets are $25, and on March 12 the price goes to $35. On the day of, you’ll pick up your tasting glass at the outdoor River Walk Park (9-11 a.m.) or the Wisconsin Dells Visitor and Convention Bureau at 701 Superior Street (11 a.m.-2p.m.).
To recap: Round up your running friends and register for the 5K, buy your pub crawl tickets, and make plans to spend the night. Oh, and decide which shade of green looks best on you and start packing your shamrock-inspired wardrobe for the weekend.
