Mapping Out Your Fall Going-Out Calendar
We’re often espousing the virtues of fall in Wisconsin Dells. The glorious colors along the Wisconsin River, golf, hiking, biking and paddling at area state parks. Time to add downtown events to that list of brilliant reasons to get away to the Dells with a number of fall festivals.
Kicking off the activities is the Wo-Zha-Wa Fall Festival – a festive celebration of autumn, September 16-18, in downtown Wisconsin Dells. Wo-Zha-Wa days are filled with family activities including arts & crafts fair, antique flea market, Maxwell Street Days, live entertainment and a semi-famous 100-unit parade. Visitors and locals are invited to participate in a street carnival with refreshment concessions and the Wo-Zha-Wa fun run. Click here for the full weekend schedule of events.
The rest of the events, all in October, are designed for the 21 & over crowd, The first is the annual Fall Wine Walk on Saturday, Oct. 1 from 2-6 p.m. If you’ve never been and you’re a wine enthusiast, you’re in for a treat. Downtown shops and restaurants are transformed into wine-tasting destinations, with 20+ businesses already signed up to participate. What makes this so, so good is that at each stop reds and whites are paired with delicious hors d’oeuvres. Sip, munch, repeat. What could be more enjoyable!
Here’s the hitch: There are only a limited number of tickets and when they’re gone, they’re gone. Purchase online pronto to make sure you’re not left out in the cold. Attendees will pick up their wristband at the Wisconsin Dells Visitor & Convention Bureau, 115 La Crosse Street, anytime between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on the Saturday of the event, Oct. 1.

The next two events fall back-to-back, Oct. 15-16, to round out the Dells on Tap Weekend. The Dells Craft Beer Walk is Friday, Oct. 14 from 5-9 p.m. Picture this: A crisp fall evening sampling artisan brews at participating bars in the Dells’ downtown district. Again, a limited number of tickets are available for this libations-centric walk and can be purchased here. The cost is a very reasonable $25 in advance and $35 day-of. Ticket holders will need to both register and pick up your tasting glass at the Wisconsin Dells Visitor & Convention Bureau, 701 Superior Street, anytime between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. the day of the event, Friday, Oct. 14. Oh, and come both hungry and thirsty, as your ticket will get you tasty food specials and additional tap specials too.
Last in the fall festival round-up is that perennial favorite, Dells on Tap, set for the afternoon of Saturday, Oct. 15. This microbrew fest takes place on the festival grounds just off La Crosse Street in downtown Wisconsin Dells. More than 50 artisan brewers will be presenting their brews, with the majority from right here in Wisconsin (that’s only fair, brewing heritage and all). We hope you’ll wet your whistle with samples from a couple of our local breweries Wisconsin Dells Brewing Company and Tumbled Rock Brewery.
Can’t wait for the event to start? Gather your teammates and sign-up for one of the pre-event games – the cornhole tournament at 10:30 AM or (new for 2021) the beer pong tournament. Awards will be given to the top three teams.
Now, if you are a true microbrew fan, then listen up as there’s a chance for VIP admission, which gets you early entry into the Dells on Tap tent at high noon, plus a commemorative VIP tasting glass, a pretzel necklace (gotta have one of those) and light snacks. Only 500 spots for this. The tent opens to general admission ticket holders at 1 p.m. The sampling and merriment wraps up at 5 o’clock sharp.
Have a buddy with a legendary beard or a mustache of epic proportions? Make sure they sign up for the beard and mustache competition the day of Dells on Tap. Decorations and styling encouraged!
Tickets for Dells on Tap are on sale now. Purchase tickets here.
You know what’s coming next, right? Cheers-ing to Wisconsin Dells and fall fun!
