Growing up in Moultrie, GA, JW was immersed in music from an early age, shaped by roots in southern gospel and traditional country. He began singing and playing guitar in church as a child and continued through high school before attending Florida Southern College, where he performed weekly gigs across the state and became a staple in his college town.
After graduation, JW moved to Nashville to pursue music full time. Over the past three years, he has focused on developing as a writer and performer, releasing more than 10 singles and his Make It Myself EP. His sound blends beachy vibes, rock energy, and traditional country influences.
In 2024, he won the Mapco Song of Summer songwriting contest, earning the chance to perform at Whiskey Jam during CMA Fest. He was also a contestant on season 29 of NBC’s The Voice, joining team Kelly Clarkson.
