Shooters will begin in a designated shooting area (marked by a box). They will get 30 seconds to survey the course of fire. After 30 seconds have elapsed, they will be issued the command to load and make ready, at which point they will holster their firearm or place it on the table. Then they will receive the command, &ldquo;are you ready?&rdquo; If the shooter acknowledges they are ready they will receive &ldquo;stand by&rdquo; command, and the RO will initiate the shot timer. Shooters need to have 2 rounds on each target. After the first course of fire is finished, the RO will issue the command of &ldquo;show and make clear&rdquo;. Shooters will unload and show clear, and the RO will inspect firearm. Firearm will be then placed back on table or in holster. RO will issue the down range command, and shooters will walk down and score their targets. The shooter will have 2 attempts each week. Both scores will be added together and recorded. The scores will be calculated by hit factor (score/time).</p>

The 2 to 2.5 hr. course allows for close, personal hands-on attention in a relaxed classroom environment. Low student-to-instructor ratio is designed around the fundamental skills behind shooting handguns safely and accurately. Other materials covered in this course would be gear, accessories, safe storage and the basics of cleaning and maintaining your firearm.</p>

<p>This comprehensive course, taught by USCCA Certified instructors, focuses on basic firearm safety and one-on-one safe gun handling skills. We will discuss the attitude, training, and mindset necessary to responsibly own and carry a concealed weapon. Personal defense topics including the legal use of deadly force, concealed carry techniques, as well as safety in your home and the safe storage of firearms will be covered. This course includes Certificate of Training for submission with permit application. There is a $40 application fee at time of application submitted to the Wisconsin DOJ. In this introduction module, our instructor introduces students to the basics of handgun safety, including how to safely clear (unload) a semi-automatic pistol. We go on to explain and demonstrate the seven basic fundamentals for safe and accurate shooting. The lesson is rounded out by taking those basics and putting them into practice both in the classroom and on the shooting range. This lesson will act as a building block as the student progresses to Women&rsquo;s Intermediate Pistol.</p>

<p>This two hour course will be split: one hour in the classroom and one hour in the range.<br />
You will be able to provide your own firearm and ammunition. If you are in need of a rental firearm, we will be able to provide a 22lr handgun and ammunition for $15 the day of class.<br />
Eye and ear protection will be required for the range portion of the class and we will have some available for purchase at the location.</p>

Cancellation Policy: Students are required to cancel at least 48 hours in advance of a class date in order to receive a full refund.
