December in the Dells
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, as this rundown of resort festivities will attest to. Will this be your year to enjoy the holidays in Wisconsin Dells?
The Snowland at Great Wolf Lodge welcomes guests in proper North Pole style with magical decorations and even indoor snow showers in the lobby. Dine in a life-size gingerbread house with the dining fee going to benefit Ronald McDonald House Charities. Stay in a Snowland Suite decked with twinkling lights and a fully decorated tree and receive a free copy of the resort’s winter storybook, “Unique as a Snowflake.”
You can count on the elves to be busy at the Wilderness Resort, with Santa visits throughout December and cookie decorating and craft projects for the kids. New this year – you can arrange to have a holiday-themed package of hot chocolate mix, mugs, candy canes, an ornament and story-time book delivered to the room as a surprise. Christmas Day brings both a breakfast buffet and dinner feast. Why not stay for the New Year’s Eve Extravaganza Party too?
They really get into the holiday spirit at Chula Vista Resort with lots of winter wonderland activities for the kids including photo opps with Santa, candy cane hunts, tree lighting, and cookie and gingerbread house decorating. Ask about adding on a tree and decorations for your room – talk about making spirits bright! New Year’s Eve is a family event here too, with lots to do to put everyone in a celebratory mood including a kids’ carnival and a grown-up DJ dance party.
The holiday buffets here are legendary. Picture tables laden with prime rib, smoked ham, oysters and more. Call for reservations and leave all the cooking and cleaning to them. Even better when you make it a “Buffet & Stay” package. Along with the indoor waterpark here, there’s Tom Foolerys Adventure Park, 100,000 square feet of fun and a great place to burn off all that sugar from holiday cookies. Check out the new zipline, then test your skills on the climbing wall, at laser tag, bowling, and the golf simulator.
