    Wisconsin Dells Rituals

    wisconsin-dells-tours-17Ride a DUCK

See the Dells in amusing style. The banter of the drivers is good clean comedy, and the scenery on land and water is a sight to behold, up close and personal.

    wisconsin-dells-fudge-17Eat fudge

Let Dells homemade fudge melt in your mouth. Buy a caramel apple, dipped multiple times for good measure, for midnight snacking.

    tommy-bartlett-show-wisconsin-dellsSee the Tommy Bartlett Show

Honestly, the Tommy Bartlett Show is synonymous with Wisconsin Dells and is one of the most fun Wisconsin Dells attractions. Remember, don't try all those tricks at home. Leave it to the professionals.

wisconsin-dells-attractions-17Take up mini-golfing and go-karting in the Dells

In addition to being the "The Waterpark Capital of the World!®", the Dells is also considered the country's mini-golf and go-kart capital.

    Jump in the water

Could be at one of the many Wisconsin Dells water parks, a lake, a motel or a campground. Just make certain to get wet before you leave.

    Largest Wisconsin Dells Waterparks

Here are six sweet Wisconsin Dells waterparks that set the gold standard:

    noahs-ark-water-park-wisconsin-dells-40Noah's Ark Waterpark

This is the undisputed granddaddy of them all. At 70 acres, Noah's Ark is America's largest outdoor water park.  The park is known for launching waterslide innovations, like the country’s first looping waterslide, Scorpion’s Tail.  Their Black Anaconda watercoaster – a combo waterslide and roller coaster - is a full quarter-mile long.

    kalahari-wisconsin-dells-water-parksKalahari Resort Waterparks

The Kalahari made its mark in the water park world when it debuted its indoor surf ride, the "Flowrider®," which uses 50,000 gallons of water per minute to create a five-foot ocean-like wave. They also introduced the country’s first indoor water roller coaster, the Master Blaster. The Kalahari, with its authentic African theme, is Wisconsin’s largest indoor water park.

    wilderness-wisconsin-dells-water-parksWilderness Hotel & Golf Resort

This is the country's largest indoor/outdoor water park combination, with four indoor and four outdoor water parks that total nearly 500,000 square feet or the equivalent of more than 12 football fields. One of their indoor water parks is under a high-tech dome that allows tropical plants to thrive and people to tan even in the winter.

    Chula Vista ResortChula Vista Resort

There's no such thing as too much water at Chula Vista Resort. Look one direction, and there's the meandering Wisconsin River. Look the other way, and there's an outdoor wave pool with sand beach, a full outdoor water park, and a multi-level indoor water park that houses the country’s fastest indoor water coaster, the Flyan Myan.

    Great Wolf LodgeGreat Wolf Lodge

A multi-story indoor water park complement by an outdoor water park complex easily put this resort in our list of Top Six. Much of Great Wolf Lodge has an "ultimate kids' camp" feel to it with lots of water rides and activities for the younger set. For the more adventurous, the Howlin’ Tornado funnel ride is a must try.

Mt. Olympus Water and Theme ParksMt. Olympus Water & Theme Parks

An outdoor surf pool with nine-foot waves and sandy beach…need we say more?! No, but we will. Mt. Olympus has some rad racing slides too - six side-by-side racers that are 350-feet in length. Indoors, the tube slides are towering and the endless river raging.

Waterpark Essentials: Must-Haves To Make The Most Of Your Day In The Dells

    Waterpark FAQs: A Refresher

We want your waterpark experience in “The Waterpark Capital of the World!®” to be a great one, so we thought it might be helpful to put together a refresher on Waterpark Essentials. Here’s a list of what to bring, what to leave home and how to make the most of your day at the waterparks in Wisconsin Dells.

    Remember to Bring

    • A swimsuit or two
    • Waterproof sunscreen
    • Sunglasses – bonus if they’re polarized to cut down on glare from the water
    • Cell phone to stay in touch and waterproof bag for safe stowing
    • Footwear – flip flops or water shoes are both good choices to protect your feet as you walk from one waterslide to the next to the next
    • Biggest, thirstiest beach towel you have
    • Swimsuit cover-up for the stroll back to your room or the car
    • Swim goggles - great for the wave pools
    • Quarters for storage lockers
    • Waterproof camera
    • Don’t Ignore This One
    • Two sets of car keys – keep them in separate places in case you lose one
    • Leave at Home
    • Jewelry – you don’t want to lose it and you can’t wear it on extreme waterslides anyway

    Important Safety Rules

    • Follow the directions of the lifeguards.
    • Read and obey all the precaution signs posted at the rides, slides and pools.
    • Know your limits, especially if you don’t know how to swim. Ask for a life jacket as you enter the park.  Children under a certain age may be required to wear a life jacket.
    • Keep an eye out for little ones, always. (Speaking of little ones, swim diapers required.)
    • Stay hydrated.
    • Walk, don’t run.
    • Arrange a meeting time and place (be specific – next to the wave pool won’t cut it) to occasionally check in with the rest of your group.

    Now have fun!

Spring Break In The Dells Is An Event Unto Itself

Automotion Wisconsin DellsOfficially, the Dells hosts one spring event and it's called Automotion. It's a great little car show that's turned into a great big car show. Unofficially, they host a second spring event, and it's called spring break. Who would have thought even five years ago that Wisconsin Dells would be a hot spring break destination? Mind you, we're not talking exclusively college students. We're talking families, and lots of them.

Indoor Water Parks Wisconsin DellsIt started innocently enough, according to Romy Snyder, who heads up the local Visitor Bureau. Families with school-age children, from grade-schoolers to teenagers, were looking for a place to chill out during the school break without getting on a plane or a cruise ship. The indoor Wisconsin Dells water park resorts were just the ticket. "It was a 'perfect storm' scenario -- close by, good value, enough variety to satisfy the entire family and the world's best water parks. And when it caught on, this place was jumping," said Snyder.

So, if you're looking for a cure for cabin fever that's kid-friendly and parent-approved, the Dells may be the hot spot you've been looking for. A word of advice -- make your reservations early. That way you won't disappoint the kids.
