Overflowing with New Offerings for 2019
It’s exciting to finally be able to share news of new offerings for 2019, not only because there is so much to share, but because it’s a list that easily serves as the perfect itinerary planner too. Let’s get started, shall we?
We love a good celebration in Wisconsin Dells, so let’s begin with what’s sure to be the party of the season, the 40th anniversary of Noah’s Ark Waterpark, the country’s largest outdoor waterpark, set for their season opener on Memorial Day weekend. Plus, there will be a full summer of special events to mark the occasion. Do you remember the first time you visited Noah’s Ark? What was your favorite ride? Be sure to try Raja, the King Cobra waterslide that made its debut last summer, with a few tweaks it’s even faster this year. Play 18 holes at Safari Adventure Mini Golf Course – yes, mini golf is back for the 40th! And grab a bite to eat at the iconic Pink’s Hot Dogs.
A colossal shout-out is in order for Circus World as it raises the roof on the Big Top for its 60th anniversary. Circus World is located on the original Ringling Bros. Circus winter quarters in nearby Baraboo and is known far and wide for its remarkable collection of restored antique circus wagons, exquisite period costumes, colorful circus posters, historic instruments, and more. Since this attraction first rose to fame in the 1960s, they’ve decided to go with “A Summer of Luv Under the Big Top” as their theme for 2019 with a nod to mod fashion and classic rock. The summer season opens on May 17.
Ho-Chunk Gaming, Wisconsin Dells completed major renovations last year as a nod to their 25th anniversary including upgrades to the main entrance and lobby, created smoke-free and VIP gaming areas, and added a new restaurant. Time your visit to one of their live music concerts – we’re talking big names with frequent sell-outs – or one of their monthly promotions.
From frenetic fun to soothing serenity, let’s move on to the opening of New Life Lavender & Cherry Farm, with visitor hours June through September. This family-run farm is tucked away in the beautiful bluffs of Baraboo. Here you’ll find homemade lavender ice cream and their original lavender cherry pies made fresh right at the farm. They also have a store full of handcrafted lavender soaps and lotions. Plan for a guided tour of the fields to see firsthand how sustainable agriculture works in Wisconsin and learn about the 21 varieties of lavender grown here.
Finally, three restaurants to get on your to-try list. First is Hot Rocks-Sear.Sizzle.Savor., a tiki-themed dining experience where you prepare food to your liking by cooking your entrée of choice – steaks, seafood, chops - at your table on lava stones heated to 750 degrees Fahrenheit. The Hot Rocks Fudge Volcano dessert, more than enough for two, is served on a frozen lava rock and you’ll want to try it, trust us.
Three other restaurants made the “What’s New” list in Wisconsin Dells: Five Guys is famous for its juicy burgers, fresh cut fries cooked in 100 percent no-cholesterol peanut oil, and hand-spun creamy vanilla milkshakes. McAlister’s Deli has fresh, made-to-order deli favorites and desserts including the Chocolate Lovin’ Spooncake billed as “chocolate therapy in cake form.” The VUE has carefully thought out their space, they seamlessly blend the nature and serenity of the Wisconsin River into their restaurant. Plan your meal at the right time and experience a sunset on the Wisconsin River.
