We have hauntingly perfect getaway ideas for you, courtesy of spooky attractions and more-treats-than-tricks offerings from the waterpark resorts.
Do you like getting scared? Then this first paragraph is for you. For those who prefer Halloween treats over spooky tricks, skip to paragraph two.
Here’s one for fans of fright – the Ghost Boat “Journey to Haunted Canyon.” This journey upriver is filled with tales of the dead and stories that produce dread. Not for children nine and under. Back on land, continue your spooky adventure with a visit to Ghost Out-Post Haunted House, where animatronic-filled rooms are definitely not for the timid. The Haunted Mansion is another place to face your fears. Take a walk on the haunted side with the Wisconsin Dells Ghost Walks through downtown and along the Scenic River Walk and be ready for the possibility of a paranormal experience.
Whew, now that the scary stuff is out of the way, let’s proceed to sweet pursuits, as in Halloween fun for kids at the waterpark resorts. Great Wolf Lodge has “Howl-O-Ween” events all month long, including a trick-or-treat trail, monster bash dance party and Spooktacular Story Time. Just don’t forget to pack your costumes. At Wilderness Resort, all little ghosts and goblins are welcome to take part in various Halloween activities like bingo, trick-or-treating, Halloween cookie decorating, and rides to the pumpkin patch. October has been renamed Spooktober at Chula Vista Resort, with a fall scavenger hunt, Halloween crafts, family-friendly haunted house, and trick-or-treating around the resort. Feeling crafty? Bring your own door decorations and compete with other guests at Kalahari Resorts and Conventions to create the most hair-raising door décor during their Spooktacular Door Competition.
