This year’s “what’s new” feature is a rundown of amped-up fun, new food and drink finds, and some fantastic hotel gems to set up the ideal Wisconsin Dells vacation itinerary. As is the tradition, the list starts with waterpark news from “The Waterpark Capital of the World!®”
Indoor and Outdoor Waterpark News
The Wilderness Resort has a new, adults-only swim-up bar. YeeHaw’s Watering Hole, a 1,300 square foot pool in the Wild West Waterpark, accommodates up to 87 guests with additional two-tiered, dry seating around the bar. Why not reserve one of the new luxury cabanas that surround the pool, large enough to seat 10 with comfy seating, flat-screen TV, and VIP service, to add to the experience. On a side note, for the whole family, the Wild West Waterpark has new dueling mat racers and dueling tube slides and a new children’s play ‘n spray structure.
Noah’s Ark Waterpark, America’s largest outdoor waterpark, is supercharging its fan-favorite Flying Gecko ride with next-gen slide technology that transforms this raft ride into a full-sensory experience. Light and sound systems will pulse as riders fly down and around the length of the 520 foot long slide. Debuting this summer.
Wisconsin Dells Attractions Just Keep Getting Better and Better
If you find you can’t look away from the bizarre, then Ripley’s Believe It or Not! has your number, with a new weird art display opening for summer 2023. This immersive experience promises to challenge all your senses.
Popular for its trampoline park, Knuckleheads indoor amusement park is going all in with mini-golf now too. Their version blends the nostalgia of classic mini-golf with advanced technology - think interactive challenges and digital scoring – for a new take on putt-putt fun.
Visitors to Timbavati Wildlife Park enjoyed the Sloth Encounter so much that this family-owned park decided to add two new “meet and greet” offerings – the Red Panda Encounter and the Reptile Encounter. Here’s your chance to meet, feed, and take pictures with your favorite animals.
Dig In to All the Food and Drink News for 2023
There is perhaps nothing more satisfying for the wine devotee than to sip a favorite vintage on an outdoor patio with views of the vineyard. That describes the new patio addition opening at Balanced Rock Winery in the spring, complete with shade sails and a gas firepit to add to the comfort and ambiance.
There’s a new artisan beer and wine maker in Wisconsin Dells, located in a spot that should be familiar to craft beer fans. Bevy takes over the production facilities of the former Port Huron Brewing Company. They’ve even brought back the popular Port Huron Honey Blonde beer as part of their lineup.
There’s a decidedly retro vibe to The District, a new restaurant on the riverfront in downtown Wisconsin Dells with both indoor and outdoor seating. The from-scratch food here is fast, casual, and tasty, and the place is set up so you can mix-and-match from a variety of menus, including burgers, chicken, and street tacos.
Huckleberry’s Ice Cream and Bakery on Broadway blends the best of European sweet shops with old-fashioned ice cream parlors in both its aesthetic and its treats. There are irresistible pastries and cookies to tempt you on one side, and ice cream and sundaes calling your name from the opposite counter.
While the name may be The Boathouse, this is actually a boutique restaurant perched high above the Wisconsin River offering locally inspired cuisine including steak and seafood entrées and signature wood-fired pizzas. Brilliant sunsets on the river provide a scenic backdrop to the fine dining experience here.
Visitors to Buffalo Phil’s Pizza & Grille can now delight in getting food delivered by miniature train in a galaxy not so far, far away. We’re referring to the new LEGO® Star Wars™ collection creation, built by international LEGO® artist Paul Hetherington and featuring scenes from the original trilogy plus more recent movies.
Big Lodging News for Big Groups
Wilderness Resort is adding to its already impressive list of lodging options with eight new treehouse cabins located near its Wild Rock Golf Course. These three-level cabins feature five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a living room, fully furnished kitchen, entertainment room, and a treehouse unit with additional sleeping and lounge space spread out over 4,000 square feet.
Lake Delton Waterfront Villas are expanding by two new villas. These new villas offer spacious room layouts accommodating anywhere from six to 20 guests. All guests also receive admission to Kalahari Waterparks.
Kick Up Your Heels at This New Shop
Get a taste of cowboy country in the middle of Wisconsin Dells at The Pickled Cowboy, a new boutique selling high-quality western wear and boots. Pick up some pickled condiments and spicy seasonings for your next backyard BBQ.
Spa Day in Wisconsin Dells
Sun Mountain Spa is relocating to a beautiful new location in Lake Delton, with a planned opening in the spring. Book a relaxing spa day, with facials, massages, body treatments, and nail services all on the menu.
If you’re planning a wedding or other special event for 2023, add this venue to your consideration list. Tranquility Farm, located on the outskirts of Wisconsin Dells, is modern and upscale, with space for up to 125 guests. The picturesque garden and landscaping here are sure to deliver lots of “pinch me” moments.
